On September 20, the annual highlight of China’s motorcycle industry—the 17th China International Motorcycle Expo—was grandly held at the Chongqing International Expo Center in the “Mountain City” of Chongqing.

As the largest domestic motorcycle exhibition this year, themed “Driving Industry Transformation and Co-Creating a Bright Future,” the China Motorcycle Expo serves not only as a key platform for unveiling new products but also as a premier venue for promoting high-displacement leisure and recreational motorcycles and related offerings in the Chinese market. This year’s event has drawn leading domestic manufacturers such as Zongshen, Wujie, Zongshen Piaggio, and Jincheng, alongside internationally renowned brands including Harley-Davidson, BMW, Indian, and Ducati, as well as suppliers of components, riding gear, and lifestyle merchandise, all showcasing their latest innovations. At the same time, the expo continues to feature cutting-edge, low-displacement motorcycles and electric vehicles—representing future trends in green energy efficiency and environmentally friendly innovation—and numerous top-tier domestic EV manufacturers are also in attendance.

While showcasing new motorcycle models and the latest cutting-edge technologies, the Motorcycle Expo leverages world-class venue facilities to set up professional off-road, skill-testing, and test-ride experience zones across a 30,000-square-meter outdoor area. It has also established dedicated interactive zones such as the “Motorcycle Experience Hub,” the “Motorcycle Stunt Competition,” the “Used Motorcycle Trading Area,” and the “CIMAMotor Biker Night” special event, enhancing both the spectator appeal and audience engagement to create an immersive motorcycle exhibition. In addition, the event has invited renowned tourism service providers from major motorcycle touring destinations around the world to participate, fostering meaningful interactions with more than 400 motorcycle clubs on-site. This initiative offers over 10,000 motorcycle riders and enthusiasts a wider range of high-quality international riding options, while showcasing the vibrant energy of Chinese motorcycle enthusiasts to the global community.

It can be said that this year’s Motorcycle Expo continues to epitomize the leading edge and future direction of China’s motorcycle industry, while remaining closely aligned with the global motorcycle landscape and thereby driving the industry’s transformation and upgrading.

A Gathering of New Cars Makes a Stunning Debut

Today, many companies are holding their new-car launch events at the Auto Shanghai show.

Zongshen Industrial Group, enjoying the advantage of being at home, showcased its four flagship brands—Zongshen, SecoLong, Senlan, and Zongshen Power—along with their core products at the Motorcycle Expo. This robust product lineup underscores the group’s commanding presence as a leader in China’s motorcycle industry. At today’s press conference, SecoLong unveiled its all-new retro-sport street bike, the RZ3S, backed by the renowned SecoLong Racing Team and featuring a one-of-a-kind exposed braided steel-tube frame and a mature, stable TC380 engine, delivering a fresh riding experience to consumers. In addition, SecoLong introduced the entry-level rally bike RX1S, marking the brand’s new-generation entry-level model for off-road adventures. The highly anticipated retro model RE3 also officially kicked off pre-sales; its impeccable inheritance of British style and seamless integration of classic retro DNA have drawn intense market attention. Furthermore, SecoLong’s large-displacement motorcycles RX6 and RK6 were on display, both reportedly powered by a twin-cylinder 650cc engine jointly developed by Zongshen and Norton, which has attracted considerable interest.

Today, the independent exhibitor Wujie officially unveiled three new models: the ER10, the 500DS, and the 650DS—namely, the twin-cylinder adventure bike 500DS, the single-cylinder rally bike 650DS, and the electric motorcycle ER10. Whether it’s the comfortable 500DS designed for long-distance touring, the rugged and powerful 650DS built for off-road challenges, or the high-performance urban electric motorcycle ER10, each model represents Wujie’s sincere commitment and significant investment over the past year, bringing a strong, distinctive voice to China’s currently booming rally and electric-motorcycle markets.
